Complete Guide To Joyetech eGo Pod AST Version Kit

This time I’m gonna introduce the eGo Pod AST Kit by Joyetech. It is an update to the existing eGo Pod Kit, so what is different with this version? Let’s find it out together.

The most obvious alteration is to the e-liquid viewing window which has increased in size. The second noticeable change is to the size of the kit – the original eGo Pod was 19x98mm whereas the AST version is taller at 19x103mm. Another big update is to the type of coils used – this has a fixed coil pod – meaning when the coil performance has deteriorated over time the plastic pod is discarded and replaced. The coil used is the new AST mesh which stands for Austenitic Stainless Steel which apparently gives a longer coil lifespan and greater flavor. Joyetech specify the coil life is apparently 20 refills on the AST coil compared to the 7 refills stated for the original version.

As for the actual device, this has no adjustments or buttons to contend with – you simply inhale on the mouthpiece, and a sensor will trigger the device to fire up. The Avatar IC 1.0 chipset is the same as found in the original and provides many user protections to help keep you safe. Inside this Joyetech device is a 1000mAh battery which charges using the micro USB port in around 1.5hours. An LED indicator light is provided but there is no mention of what this actually displays – i.e. battery charge level, etc? The pod is refillable via the side fill port and will hold up to 2ml of your own e-liquid.
