Have you ever bought pod system kits with a charging case? The Tripod Kit by Uwell is such a device, let’s take a close look now.
Uwell Tripod is a quirky new pod kit – the reason behind the name will become more apparent as we continue this preview… There are 2 main components in the kit – the Uwell Tripod device and the charging case. Then to break this down further you open the charging case and there are 2 more replacement pods located inside the charging case. Hence the name “Tripod” – 2 spare pods plus the pod located on the mod = 3 pods. Looking first at the actual mod – this has a weeny 370mAh battery. This is small but as you carry the mod in the charging case it recharges itself whilst not in use. There is no charging port on the mod – you install it into the case for charging. The output is stated as 11W maximum and I assume this means the power will decline as the battery charge depletes. The brain of the mod is the Uwell BEIN chipset which offers lots of protections.
You install the removable pod of your choice into the mod body and it is refillable with up to 2ml of your own e-liquid via the side fill port. Inside the Tripod cartridge is a 1.2ohm coil which is designed for higher nicotine strength e-liquids or nicotine salt liquids. The coil is not removable so you will discard the whole pod when it wears out. No worries though as you will have 2 more stashed inside the charging case! The charging case has an internal 1000mAh battery which you charge via the USB Type-C port at up to 1.5A charge rate. A display of LEDs mounted on the top of the case displays the charge status. To wake up the case simply touch the indicator plate. As with the mod, the case has a number of circuit protection provided.
