In the current vape market, various pod mod kits have sprung up, all market feedback and consumer experience have proved that this kind of products has hit the spot. But Smok just goes back to upgrade its well-received pod system kit and then launched a follow up version, the Nord 2 Kit. Just like Smok announced, Nord 2 has made comprehensive improvements and innovations on the basis of its predecessor. Let’s check it out.
Exterior
The construction materials of both Nord vape kits are identical, the zinc alloy frame and PC material pattern panels on both sides give an excellent touch feel. There is only one button on the whole body, which is used to activate and adjust the device.
Battery
Smok Nord 2 Kit inherits the same form factors as the first generation, however it houses a 1500mAh battery inside, larger than original 1100mAh. Given that, the maximum power output has also been increased from the original 15W to 40W. It also embeds an advanced IQ-N chipset, enables Nord 2 exerting extra power for great flavor and superb performance.
Screen
Nord 2 is equipped with a 0.69 inch OLED display for showing clear and intuitive data that the Nord doesn’t have. Even the screen is not big, it can display more information straightly and vividly compared with simple LED indicators. When the USB cable is plugged in, the charging interface is displayed with the percentage of battery power and the estimated charge time.
Power
Output wattage adjustment is easy and efficient. Press the power button 3 times to activate the wattage setting function, then simply keep pressing to make the power level higher and higher until catch the wattage you prefer.
Pod
Another breakthrough improvement is that Nord 2 comes with two new pods: the RPM pod and the Nord pod, which are compatible with the coils of RPM series and Nord series respectively. Both of them can hold 4.5ml of e-liquid, and can be distinguished with the corresponding text on their rubber plug. The RPM pod is pre-installed with 0.4ohm mesh coil for the best flavor, while the Nord pod is pre-installed with 0.8ohm Nord DC MTL coil for better MTL experience.
